Over accessorizing and the dangers of online translation tools

Periodically, I wonder, “What shall I blog today…” and then I find stuff like this that shoots into my attention like a hot red chile fart.

I found it here whilst I was wheedling randomly through Blogspot blogs, and because it is a Spanish-language blog, I wanted to know what the author was saying.

After a quick google search, I think that I’ve figured out what’s going on. EVOC (East Village Opera Company) advertises themselves as “The most popular Rock Opera in the world”, and is comprised of an honest-to-goodness rock band synced up with a string quartet. Oh, and they announced a Peruvian concert date. Some have accused them of being a “cover band”, but since that can’t sell tickets, they adamantly reject such descriptive impingements.

Upcha is a Peruvian rock and blues band that’s been around since 1994. They are in Wikipedia and everything.

I can’t figure out who the be-ribboned frolicker is.  One can only conclude from the web post, and the rather action-oriented picture that both EVOC and Upcha are performing together at some henceforth date of 22-April-2007.

So, if anyone thinks they’ll be in Peru at that time, maybe they should get tickets to see the Peruvian Rock Opera spectacle of this half-decade.
