Hur Hur

Are you sorry yet?

1 year brings many good changes

Posted by E-George on July 16, 2007

Yesterday was my and Matt’s 1 year anniversary. By traditional terms, it’s the “paper anniversary”, and by modern terms it’s the “clocks anniversary” [learn more]. While a normal Sunday would be jammed full of laundry, yardwork, grocery shopping, food prep, and homework, yesterday was an abnormal exception. Despite my irrational fear and controlling distaste for Wal-Mart (which I yipped about all the way there and all the way back), we patronized the nearest establishment and took advantage of their sale on a particular Blu-Ray disc player and then went to Best Buy and took advantage of their not-sale on Blu-Ray discs, making sure to pick up the quintessential hi-def film making example, BBC’s Planet Earth. We enjoyed a (mostly) quiet afternoon, sifting through our new assortment of Blu-Ray movies, testing each one to evaluate its hi-def-ness.

What I mostly enjoyed was reflecting on the year prior, and imaging the years hence. [sap] I love the way he makes me want to be a better person. I love how he encourages me. I love how he eats the steak seasoning all by itself. I love how he always cooks on either open flame, or on red-hot high heat. I love how he effuses “Vigor at all times”. I love how he loves his family. I love that we’re a team in the truest sense of the word. I love that he makes the sacrifices necessary to ensure our future, and his gift for planning and executing long-term goals. [/sap]

Happy Anniversary, Matthew. May our lives be truly long together, and not just feel that way.*
