Feeling sentimental about weddings & steak
Posted by E-George on August 25, 2007
On Wednesday, Matthew and I are flying to Minnesota to attend the wedding of his brother, Craig, to, easily, the perfect woman, Kayla.

It has made me think about other weddings. Mine. My parent’s. Aunt Anne’s. My sibling’s. My grandparent’s. Happiness is the expression of the love of companionship like that which was shown by my grandparents, Tony & Ora:

Subsequently, they spent anniversaries exceeding 50 years together:

These pictures make me feel sentimental. They remind me about the commitment I’ve made to Matthew, and help me love him even through those times when we don’t see eye-to-eye. Like tonight when he ate his age in portions of steak and I suggested that his rate of steak consumption was disproportionate to his body’s processing capacity thereby leading me to the conclusion that his colon would eventually be studied as a medical miracle. He grinned wildly at me with an expression drunk on steak and gleefully and loudly declared himself “the most prodigious meat eater I know” and then followed up that comment later this same evening with an equally gleeful declaration of, “I ate too much steak - hee hee hee!! Gotta hit the CAAAAN!! hee hee hee! AAAALlllll the steak!”
How lovely love is.
