Are you sorry yet?

How failure goes from being hypothetical to very very real

Posted by E-George on November 14, 2007

My failure of Physics 2 is official.  As of today, I received my third test back, and performed worse on this test than the one prior, and the one prior was still a failing grade.  Now, all that can be done is to drop the class and try again next semester.  It is this very ilk of experience that makes me question if I am trying to ram a square peg (me) into a round hole (engineering).   Perhaps I am not meant for these duties.

Que Bummer. Sorry for your troubles. I never got on well with physics 2 myself, its powerful yet cursed magic…

yeah, do not let physics hold you back! i had similar issues with one of those pesky physics classes in the day. don’t know if there is an option for a different teacher or just barely scraping by but fortunately engineering is easier than physics (lol, that sounds odd but tis true)

No, no, no. You’ve got to keep your head up. I had to take calculus three times before I could pass it. When you take the class again, you will have the advantage of knowing where you are weakest and focus on those areas. I know you’ll do great! You just have to trust in yourself and in God and all will be well.

I hear there will be a different professor next semester. that could be good or bad, but I’ll reserve judgment. I also hear there’s a new book, too, so it’s the double whammy price point of paying for the class a 3rd time and having to buy a new book that’s identical to the old book except for the examples which have new numbers. This is what breeds the euphamism “they get you coming and going” I suspect.

I’m going to try to secure some private tutoring, too, since 60-hours of pre-test prep and sheer force of will weren’t enough to create a passing grade. I need to get through with this class so I can move on to <snerk! YAAAG > physics 3.

If all these measures fail to work, I’ll leave engineering school and go to cooking school.

I must laugh at beef. “Do not let physics hold you back”. That is classic and needs to be a motivational poster!

Sorry about failing the class. I am totally inpressed that you even take that class. Ok, impressing me with knowledge is not that hard.
