How to feel like a giant while in India

Posted by E-George on January 22, 2008

Go to the southern tip of India’s coastline and photograph yourself performing the popular finger-on-the-head-of-the holy-shrine trick.

Take special note of the CRICKET INDIA hat. I believe its purchase was a last-minute attempt to stave off sunburn, but it really is quite spectacular in its simplicity.

Some other pictures from India include this family-style traveling:

The pictures clearly demonstrates that motorcycles are perfectly safe! I don’t know why Matthew is so against my having one. If they can be used to transport families of 3 or more, they are certainly safe enough to transport little ol’ me. I’d even wear a helmet.

Then, there’s the canonical heaping piles of spices and dried fruits. The sort of pictures one expects only to see in National Geographic or in Economist magazine talking about food scarcity.

I’m so envious. I wish I could pretend to put my finger on the head of a holy shrine. As it is, the most exotic place I’ve visited so far was the most beautiful grocery store in the universe located in Irvine, CA. Seriously. The gorgeousness of their produce almost caused me to weep. This year, I’ll have to be content to possibly visit San Antonio, TX on business this summer. But, maybe if I’m super good, Matthew will take me to Albuquerque’s Explora Children’s museum after the semester is done.
