Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed

Posted by E-George on April 10, 2008

It’s no secret (at least I hope it’s not) that I’m a Christian who believes in a Lord who is my savior and who believes that the same Lord is an intelligent God, a caring and loving Heavenly Father who (brace yourself) created the universe and everything in it, around it, on it, and about it.

Let me clarify that I’m not a young-earther.  Nor am I a flat-earth fanatic.   Nor am I engaging in willful ignorance in the blinding heat of religious zealotry.  I question the validity of accepting Darwinism in its totality that excises God or any other form of intelligent design contribution  to the forming of the universe and life in it.  What’s even better is that I have a right to question Darwinism.  What I have not had is the grace of time to indulge in a research project of my own to fully craft my argument, so at the present time, this should clang in your ears only as opinion.  But, it’s my opinion.  You can have yours, but this is mine and I believe we can still be friends regardless of any conflicting view points.  My goal isn’t to sway you, as long as your goal isn’t to sway me.

I happened across a Ben Stein piece today that rattled my wee boots.  As it would happen, he released a documentary movie called Expelled: No Intelligence Required Allowed in February.  It never made it to Albuquerque, and, if it did, I certainly wouldn’t have noticed because I was busy “glowing” in the early stages of my first trimester (where “glowing” means puking my brains out).    In it, he talks not about the proving of Intelligent Design, but rather the phenomena wherein professors and scientists, men of considerable reputation in their respective fields, are professionally persecuted and stripped of basic First Amendment rights for openly considering Intelligent Design as a possible option to the origins of the universe.  I want to see this film.  I think it would be very interesting.  Again, not from the angle of proving Intelligent Design over Natural Selection (personally, I don’t think that argument can ever be settled), but from an actions-equal-consequences angle.

The preview is longer (00:07:41), so it may take a while to load.

actually, it is coming. I’ll forward you the email on Monday from my work email. Hopefully it wasn’t this weekend. The Christian networking group at Sandia sent an email about it. It was definitely coming to the Century Rio and I think the UA on Indian School and Tramway. It sounded pretty interesting………..

Actually the film title is “No Intelligence Allowed”
But I like your version much better, it’s much more accurate.

Whoops… Nothing like adding credence to my argument, eh? :)
