Happy Mothers Day
Posted by E-George on May 11, 2008
I don’t believe I qualify for any such greeting yet, as I am only a gestating mom, not a mom practitioner, or an MP, if you will. I expect that next year I’ll feel more comfortable gazing dolefully at my husband making less-than-subtle hints about flowers, or cards, or unloading the dishwasher.
In the mean time, let’s honor those people who are mothers with actual children. I’d call them out each by name, but I’m sure I’d forget someone and then feel like a total wretch for being so thoughtless.
Thank you, mothers, for the vast series of sacrifices you’ve made to be the best at your mothering craft. You’re all fine examples, and it is my great privilege to know you all. Without mothers, this world would be, well, unpopulated, but also a duller, bleaker, and more forlorn place. So, thank you for all you do. Hopefully you realize that every child’s gratitude extends well past this one day in May.
SAAAA-LUTE!
