First camping. Next, Texas.

I’m going camping tonight.   Camping.  Like the for-reals style in a tent.   On the ground.  Without an attached bathroom.  Some may think that I’m exercising the apogee of idiocy, given that I’m six months pregnant and been in the perpetual situation of having to gauge my travels based on toilet proximity, and you very well may be right.  But, I calculated the odds of this being really fun versus really really miserable, and, well, I went ahead anyway.   There’s a 30% chance of rain in the area, but Matthew assures me that’s part of the fun, and since our tent has a “rain fly” we’ll be perfectly fine.   I’ve packed the cribbage board and a deck of cards, just in case.  I left the iPOD at home, under the Griswoldish perspective that I’ll be in surrounded by nature so I should enjoy the nature sounds and leave the dulcet croonings of Bruce Dickenson to a more urban setting.

Sunday I fly to Texas for a week.  This is a business trip, and hardly the traditional boondoggle style to which I had heretofore become accustomed.  There will be a lot of work.  A lot of schmoozing. And a lot of humidity.  Hopefully we’ll come out of it all victorious in the end.  You can learn more about why I’m there by looking here.
