10 Months

This post is WAY behind schedule. And, it is going to be missing video, but hopefully the pictures will make up for it.
The nine-to-ten month time frame has been amazing! She sprouted a lot of hair.
Her crawling blossomed into a full-blown force of movement.
She learned how to unload bookshelves and disassemble the tupperware cupboard.
She learned where the plants were and how much fun it was to dig the potting soil out and smear it on the carpet. The house was for sale for the whole time, so much of our activities were reduced and limited with the intent of keeping the house in a show-ready state. It was a little frustrating to have to constantly chase her around and basically stymie her creative process.
Nudie time experienced a temporary hiatus after one evening when she was sitting and playing sweetly in the TV room and before either one of us knew what was happening she managed to poop the most massive poop that ringed around her naked butt. Matthew was non-plussed, to say the least. Fortunately, we had already purchased a carpet spot washing machine so we were able to get it all washed out without any apparent stain. We kept her pants on until after the house sold and the new owners announced they were going to rip out the carpet and tile throughout.
One of Evelyn’s favorite things is when Matthew gets out the hiking backpack and takes her for a walk around the neighborhood and then into the backyard to water the tomato plants. Her next favorite thing is spending time in her hippo pool. She loves dogs, riding in grocery carts, wielding pens, pulling herself to her feet using the entertainment center, surfing the length of fireplace hearth, hitching rides in the laundry basket, and making blanket tents with mom.
This phase of babyhood is fantastic, but the difficulty level has decidedly increased. She doesn’t stay in one place anymore and she has gotten quite vocal about her preferences. She is more readily frustrated, but at the same time she has grown very adventurous. One of my favorite things is to see her digging into her toy bin with the most serious expression and the furrowed brow of concentration that is SO Matthew as she turns whatever toy over in her hands giving it a thorough examination.
Just shortly after her 10-month birthday the house sold! Unfortunately, we still haven’t found a house to move into. We’re very actively looking, and we’ve found quite a few possibilities, but nothing has really jumped out and screamed, “Buy me!”
I’m enjoying this part of our life immensely. She’s my angel.
